I refuse to live in the campus. Me and my friend found a pretty house in Bedford, everything was plain perfect. Then we accidentally realized we are to study in Luton. Oh joy, i said. So i started looking for flats/ houses again. I’m very optimistic about fleeing, so maybe that’s why good luck has been on my side and i found a free double room in a huuuge house. I don’t mind sharing my room with my friend, although i would’ve preferred living alone.
I am scared of the other people in the house, since i won’t get to know them before moving in. Two more months of Romanian skies.

i take it you’re going to uni of bedfordshire. don’t rule campus out unless you know that your house is in a popular student area – luton isn’t the best place to live so make sure you’re in a good area (there’s nothing particularly wrong with luton, it’s just there’s not much right with it).
best thing about campus is that you have to socialise with a bigger pool of people – then after year one you know where and with whom you want to live.

i would go and live in campus, but my friend is coming with me as well, and she cannot afford to pay 15 months of rent in advance, so i started looking for a house and a flat. unfortunately things keep happening and i cannot seem to find what want.

surely it’s not 15 months in advance. you could email the students union – although these people are so far up themselves they do have their uses, especially if you play up the ‘from another country vulnerable female aspect’. they normally have lists of available properties. i know that sounds a bit patronising but you might get more like what you want.

i don’t know about lutton but i’ve studied in budapest and life off campus is so much better than in-dorm accomodation. i say go for the outdorm package.

yeah it’s 15 weeks, my bad. i will probably email them, but now i seem to have another problem, since my friend is not sure if she wants to come ( she says she doesn’t know if she’ll manage with a job + school, because she never had a job in her life and so on).
Well Budapest is not Luton, i would rather not live in campus as well. Quiet and timid as i am i don’t know if i could fit in.

don’t worry – in ten years time you’ll be boring people stiff at dinner parties with “how you had the time of your life at uni”.
incidently if you photoshop the sky to grey that’s exactly what luton looks like

oh noes, because the buildings in Bucharest remind me of the communist era. The sky was blue tho.
